Hello All,

We are just a few days away from our trek to Burbank for the Youth Alive Conference. Our Youth Group/College and Career are really looking forward to it. We did a little extra fund-raising this year so we could spend all day Sunday in Disneyland!! Woot woot!

Since we are within a few days of our departure I must give the "Last Call" on any flower orders. I am sewing like mad and hope to get the last of my current orders complete by tomorrow. Revival Tabernacle Youth Service and Lock-In

We are swiftly approaching the Revival Tabernacle Annual Youth Service and Lock-In. We had an amazing time last year and are looking forward to the same this year.

After a power pact service we will be heading over to City Beach of Fremont to enjoy exclusive use of the facilities massive rock climbing gym, basketball court, volleyball court and inflatables.

Dear Ex- Pentecostal Girl

Dear Ex- Pentecostal Girl,

I saw your pictures today and hardly recognized you. The images I saw left me feeling lost wondering where that teenager that use to weep in the alters went. I knew you had walked away but I had always hoped you would find your way back some day.

Life in the fast lane may be fun for a season but where does it leave you when the people that used you, took advantage of you and robbed you of your innocence are done with you? When you find yourself alone, disgusted with your actions I pray you remember that there are people but more importantly a loving merciful God that is just waiting to welcome you back home. Don’t stay away for too long, we are not promised tomorrow. Sin will take you farther than you ever wanted to go.  As I type this letter to you there is an aching in my chest and I can barely see the screen on my computer for the tears. Please come home.

You may feel embarrassed or maybe even a little too proud to face all the people that you feel “trashed talked you” but its time to get beyond that. We’re not promised tomorrow, and your soul is not where it needs to be. There is no boy that will love you more than God and no drug or alcohol will make you feel better then a powerful Sunday night service . You know the feelings of loneliness and distress you feel when you lay your head down on the pillow at night, please don’t try to flaunt your new lifestyle to those who are younger and once looked up to you. Is the life you’re living now what you would want to pass on to your babies?

Please find your way back to where you need to be. God’s waiting. Time is short.

Sewing on my Soapbox & Youth Alive

Howdy Folks,

While I realize that my last post was not what this blog was created for I did enjoy being able to express my feelings. So this blog will be taking on a slightly new identity. I still plan for its primary use to be advertising accessories but it will now have the occasional thought or rant of the day. I have been sewing like a mad woman, so I thought it was time to load some more photos.

We will be taking our fabulous group of young people to Youth Alive in Burbank, CA and I will be bringing some of my pieces to sell. Most of what I am bringing is by request. Cattiness in the Church?

I know this blog was created to advertise accessories, but it’s my blog and I’ll vent if I want to! I read the following quote this morning and was disgusted beyond measure.

Why do we do that? Are we really that insecure? Does it really make us feel better to talk about another girl?

My husband is a Youth Pastor so we have the awesome privilege to work with some amazing young people. We go to conferences all over the state and I am now starting to notice that level of cattiness coming in to the Church.

We brought a young lady with us to a conference last year that had been coming to our youth functions for a while. She didn’t have the Pentecostal “look” down but she was trying fit in. As we were leaving I noticed a group of girls standing behind her making fun of her outfit, and not being very discrete about it. It took everything that was within me not to grab those young ladies by their ear, march them up to their Pastor or Parents and tell them what the girls had been doing. By the grace of God our visitor did not notice and was able to enjoy the conference and some of the new friends she had made. As I fumed on the way to the parking lot I couldn’t help but wonder what would have happened if she had noticed. What would have been her impression of true Holy Ghost filled young people? Now I do realize the majority of young people don’t act this way or if they do are not as open about it. Would she have ever come back to church?

I’m sorry but I don’t agree with the saying “sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me”. Words do hurt. One careless joke about someone’s appearance can be stumbling block to someone. Who are we to make someone feel uncomfortable in their own skin?

I challenge you today to complement someone. Don’t be so proud to tell someone else they look nice.

First Impressions

Statistics show that you have 3 seconds to make a favorable first impression, 3 seconds! Does that sound shallow? Sure it does, but its an unfortunate reality. That's why its so important to look your best at all times but looking your best doesn't necessarily mean a lot of expensive pieces. Pick staple items that can be dressed up with different accessories (ahem, see above), you never know who's watching.

Camp, vacation and sewing

Hello All,

Since we chatted last I got the opportunity to spend a few days along the coast while at Pacific Coast Family Camp, went on vacation and have been trying to replenish my headbands and get out a few custom orders from camp. Busy, busy busy.
